Daughters In My Kingdom

A new book is available to all the sisters in Relief Society entitled, Daughters In My Kingdom. If you haven't already picked up your copy, please see Amy Mena and ask for one. The church web site offers information about the book, and the book itself in a variety of formats, including audio. Here is a quote from the web site:

"In grateful recognition of the blessing of Relief Society in the lives of Church members, the First Presidency has directed the preparation of Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society.
The teachings, stories, and examples in this history book will guide you in establishing priorities and practices in your life that will help increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and seek out and help those in need."

Happy September! Hopefully everyone is settled back into the school day routine and enjoying the cooler weather. It's mid-month already! Give your companion a call and set up some Visiting Teaching appointments. Your Sisters would love to hear from you.

This month Sister Julie Beck shared some amazing thoughts in our Visiting Teaching Message. Some of my personally favorite quotes are these:

“There has grown in me an overwhelming testimony of the value of daughters of God. … I have felt that there has never been a greater need for increased faith and personal righteousness. There has never been a greater need for strong families and homes.”

Sisters can help create strong homes and families as they act on personal revelation. “The ability to qualify for, receive, and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life,”

I love the expression of confidence she shows in us as she teaches that we, as women and daughters of God, are capable of receiving our own personal fortification and direction from the Spirit and using it to better our lives and our families. She offers wonderful suggestions and guidelines as to how we can increase our spiritual self-reliance, as does Elder Ballard. To read the rest of the message and print copies to share, click here:
